Riverside, MO. (Dec. 8, 2016)—Velociti Inc., a leading provider of technology deployment services, today announced the completion of a high capacity Wi-Fi system for the Overland Park Convention Center, making the convention center capable of handling a true BYOD environment for the large crowds it’s events draw to the facility.

“Our attendees want to interact electronically with the shows they are attending, upload and share photos, videos, Snapchat and tweet their experiences,” Brett C. Mitchell, General Manager of the Overland Park Convention Center, said. “The bigger the event, the bigger the bandwidth requirements and with our latest investment we are confident the user-experience is exceptional, from our smallest meeting to our largest tradeshow.”

Velociti’s team of project managers, system engineers and technicians performed site surveys, cabling, installation of the cabinets and APs, and Go Live support with live event testing at multiple shows to ensure optimal performance was met for the Overland Park Convention Center.

The solution was also designed with future growth in mind. The Overland Park Convention Center is continuing to evaluate new technologies for a more comprehensive interactive customer experience, with one of their latest additions being fully, immersive virtual reality via Gear VR ™ goggles—also an industry first.

“The system we put in place for the convention center will not only handle the influx of devices today’s consumers carry,” said Bryan Aiken, Network Solutions Architect for Velociti, “but will allow us to build on the facilities technologies and user-experience without impacting the performance of the new system.”
